My First Time Snowboarding
Here are some pictures of the first time I learned to snowboard. What a noob I was!
This was back in March of 2006, so 7 years ago. This was before I was a ski instructor, even.
What happened was, my buddy, Karl, and I went up to Indianhead Mountain for a ski trip. The night before we left, they got like 24″ of snow. I got there and they had a few runs with powder and, for me, they were big runs. I didn’t know how to ski properly and I think I was using a wedge (snow plow) a lot. My legs were killing me! I remember they were so sore – I couldn’t even be out there all day.
What I decided to do was to take a break from skiing the 2nd day and learned to snowboard. I got out in their practice area there and even got an hour lesson. The lesson wasn’t very good. They had to pull some kid off of his free time snowboarding and I could tell he didn’t want to instruct me. I learned a little but not much. It was disappointing.
I just remember spending a lot of time in the hot tub there trying to get my legs to recharge. Today, I’d be playing around in that powder like I was in heaven! 🙂
